To coordinate all the efforts of its departments and graduate schools towards realizing the mission and vision of STU. More so, the purpose of the college is to integrate interrelated available resources in enhancing teaching quality and developing higher standards for academic professionalism consistent with the mandate set by STU. It has also been exerting efforts to expand its social services and to globalize its academic activities internationally and cross-strait wise. The main goal of the college is to cultivate and provide students with a theoretical and practical understanding of business management.
To incubate advanced design talents for innovation, research and planning: In accordance with the educational philosophy of STU, our mission is to coordinate with the needs of the nation's development in the design industry of culture and creativity and digital content, and to conform to the purpose of the based setting. We cultivate professionals of advanced design with abilities to create, research, develop, plan, execute, as well as to broaden their perspectives on technology, art, culture, and the world.
To contribute to the progressive development of STU and more importantly to address the needs of both the domestic and international development of the IT industry. The department is home to talented human resources with multi-tasking skills in the areas of Computer Science, Management, Communication Science, and Research and Development.
To guide students in practice and application to promote students' understanding and related knowledge towards familial and social needs, and further to improve life quality. The college also aims to develop students' awareness and tolerance of diverse cultures, to offer students opportunities to participate in social activities, to focus on whole-person development, to integrate theory and practice, to build up students' self-confidence and self-esteem, and to link theoretical and practical learning to eliminate the gap between academics and application, as well as building up the knowledge base of human and social science, to deepen students' knowledge in foreign languages, family and communities, and sexuality, and to strengthen their abilities in socio-economic application and service. The college is also in pursuit of conducting research and developing knowledge across different fields and countries to reach the outside world for global interchanges.
Liberal education at STU is based upon "holistic education" ideals with courses designed to cultivate students in accordance with the school motto: academics, intellect, happiness, and hope. Students are expected to develop fundamental knowledge and skills in humanity and science, cross-disciplinary reasoning, creative thinking and problem solving through a variety of courses, forums, and activities. Students hence will become well rounded citizens of new ages equipped with both knowledge and practice.
